"ADOPT THE FARM FOR A DAY" PROGRAM!

The Farm has a new and exciting program it is instituting!

Would your church, youth group, softball team, boy scout troop, rotary group, girl scout troop, 4-H club, college group or workplace like to volunteer for one day at the farm?  We are already setting up the volunteer schedule for 2010 for volunteer groups!  Call the farm office at 810-4264 or drop us an e-mail at freefoodcny@yahoo.com to get more details and to be one of the first to sign up!

"ADOPT A CROP!"

This is a brand new program for 2010.  We learned in 2009 that some groups prefer working with one crop from beginning to end.  Here is your chance!  If you adopt a crop, your group will help with the planting, weeding and harvesting of your crop.  You can choose the size of your crop--1/4 acre; 1/2 acre; full acre.  For those groups interested in being responsible for a crop, you can have your group sign on the crop.  We also encourage your group to raise funds towards the seeds, seedlings and fertilizers (although this is not required).

 "ST. CECILIA'S ORCHARD!

There is also work to be done in the orchard.  We keep it mowed but there is a lot of hand weeding to be done around the individual trees.  Later in the season (in the fall) we will have to net each of the trees to keep the deer from eating them.

We are also hoping to plant raspberry bushes in the fall, as there is more room in the orchard.  If you wish to donate or raise money for raspberry bushes, please let us know.
